Fire Fighting Systems

Systems we provide

• Standpipe and hose systems — a pre-piped water system with hose outlets, for use by trained building occupants or the fire department.
• Automatic sprinkler systems — wet, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge, fixed water spray and foam-water spray, designed to the NFPA 13 standard for sprinkler systems.
• Foam suppression — water mixed with foam concentrate, with the concentrate held in bladder or atmospheric tanks ready for immediate use; suited to flammable liquids and power generating equipment.
• Clean agent suppression — FM200, NOVEC 1230, NAF S 125 and INERGEN systems, for rooms where water would damage electronics.
• Fire pump systems — UL-listed fire pump sets built to NFPA 20, covering end-suction, horizontal split-case, vertical multistage, vertical turbine, in-line, hydro-pneumatic and submersible pumps.

Fire pumps: capacity and pressure

Fire fighting pumps are the heart of any fire fighting system: they provide the pressure and flow the system depends on. A fire pump set must be reliable and redundant and comply with NFPA 20, the standard for the installation of stationary pumps for fire protection, with third-party certification such as UL/FM behind the equipment. Our pump systems cover 20 to 2,000 US gpm at 6 to 16 bar. Welltech Engineering Solution is an authorised dealer for EBARA fire pumps.

Where clean agent is the right choice

A sprinkler discharge can do more damage than the fire in a control centre, a power plant or an office full of computers. Clean agent systems suppress the fire with inert gas or a chemical agent that does not damage the equipment. We supply and install several agents so the choice follows the hazard, not the catalogue.

Standards and approval

Systems are designed to the relevant NFPA standard — 13 for sprinklers, 14 for standpipe and hose, 20 for fire pumps — and to the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. Where a project requires it, we prepare the design for approval by the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
